Project Summary

The goal of this project with Solaria was to conduct detailed analysis and reporting on the performance of two concentrating photovoltaics (CPV) demonstrations to help convenience investors and the financial community of the viability of this technology. The total system size installed at Solaria's manufacturing facility in Fremont, CA was 110 kW with the horizontal axis tracking system accounting for 58.1 kW and the azimuth tracking system accounting for 52.9 kW. A second system, installed at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, CA has a total system size of 240 kW with 220 kW azimuth tracker system and 20 kW dual-axis tracker system. Solaria collected, analyzed, and reported on data and detailed system performance factors for these systems.
